Today we take for granted that a watch can tell time, have an alarm, able to check your email, act as a phone and a whole host of other cool features.  Back in the late 80’s most of these ideas were still in the “science fiction category”.  Then along came Casio and they introduced watches that were way ahead of their time.  With the introduction of the Calculator watch, we were off to the future and we haven’t looked back since.

I thought this week we would take a look “Back to the Future” at some of the first truly smart watches.

Calculator watch worn by Marty McFly in “Back to the Future”

phone book, organizer and notepad
MP3 Player
Calorie counter, steps and distance.
Blood pressure and Hartbeat
UV ray sensor
Voice Recorder
Computer uplink
TV watch
GPS
Moon Phase

It is still amazing to think that we can have all of the above features in a single watch that is small enough to wear and only costs a few hundred dollars!   I love progress…..
